The Chamber hosts various events (Business After Hours, Progress Through People Breakfasts and Luncheons, etc.), which provide our members with the opportunity to develop business contacts and potential clients while exchanging information on business and community issues. The Ambassador Program also offers Chamber members a great link to the community and Chamber life. As a new member, you will have an Ambassador who will be by your side to assist you with any Chamber requests you may have. As an established member, you too may want to become an Ambassador and help spread goodwill for the Chamber.
The Chamber provides important marketing opportunities at little or no cost to our members through newsletter advertising, “Business Spotlight” articles, business directory listings, Ribbon Cutting ceremonies, annual business awards, program sponsorships and other promotions designed to enhance your business presence. Acting as a “second storefront,” the Chamber helps you gain direct exposure to hundreds of businesses in our community simply through your membership.
We offer our members exposure in the Coastal Courier, the local newspaper of Liberty County, through the Business Section, which appears on Fridays. We are also able to offer our membership a directory of members, with free listings to all Chamber members. Chamber members also have the opportunity to take part in our Liberty County magazine, which is distributed widely throughout Liberty County. The Chamber of Commerce also produces their E-News Friday bulletin which is an electronic newsletter that goes out to its membership every Friday. Chamber members stay abreast of all of the current events and offerings in Liberty County by receiving this weekly update.
The Chamber regularly receives inquiries from people needing local business services and products. Through our Referral Program, we put these people in touch with our members. Designed to generate business for our members only, the Chamber’s Referral Program consists not only of telephone referrals, but also includes a new on-line directory designed to increase internet exposure for our member businesses. Members also benefit from the opportunity of the Chamber’s Welcome Center in which members can display literature regarding their business. Relocation packets are mailed daily which includes members’ information.
The Chamber sponsors many workshops and seminars throughout the year that are in most cases free (or reduced) for Chamber members. The Chamber also looks to its membership to host workshops that may benefit the business community. Small business counseling is also offered bi-weekly at the Chamber of Commerce to those in business or wanting to establish a new business. ADVOCACY. The Chamber is your connection to local and state government, as well as our military community. With our newly formed Governmental Affairs Committee, the Chamber is committed to keeping its finger on the pulse of our community. We provide opportunities for you to discuss public policy issues with elected officials (e.g. Eggs and Issues breakfast, etc.) and offer updates and insight into military deployments, homecomings and other matters affecting our economy. The Chamber also offers Political Forums for the community so they may get to know potential candidates for office as well as their platforms. MEMBER DISCOUNTS. The member to member discount program connects Chamber members to substantial savings at businesses throughout the community and offers new and innovative ways to market your business. Businesses gain exposure and help other members to take advantage of money saving discounts on both products and services.
The Chamber now offers specially designed small business health insurance products through Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Georgia. Known as “Member Care Alliance,” these products provide quality group health insurance at reduced premium rates to eligible Chamber member businesses.
Your investment in the Chamber allows you to help shape the future of Liberty County, as well as participate in community events and celebrations such as the STAR Student Banquet, Blues and BBQ and the Annual Illuminated Christmas Parade. You may also become a part of other Chamber-sponsored events and functions such as Leadership Liberty, and Member Appreciation Low Country Boils. Most importantly, by becoming a member you demonstrate a commitment to the success of both your Chamber and your community.
