Community members are invited to a monthly 5K Fun Run/Walk, a Liberty Proud and Healthy committee initiative. This free, and family-friendly monthly event begins at 10 am on every first Saturday of the month at James Brown Park, located on 800 Tupelo Trail in Hinesville. Class is for elementary and middle school children. Must pre-register before class at www.azureartstudio.com class is $20 for two hour instruction about art and art history. An art project will be completed in each class. Class is held every Wednesday from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m.
Semi-annual Post-Wide Yard Sale happening at Fort Stewart & Hunter Army Airfield in the housing areas. Fort Stewart Flea Market will take place at the Bennett Sports Complex parking lot. With the increase in youth bullying, suicide and drug use, Girl Scouts are actively fighting to create change. Through a program to educate and reduce the stigma of mental illness, Girl Scouts can earn the Mental Health Awareness Patch developed by the International Bipolar Foundation for playing a positive role in their communities.
