If you’ve ever moved from one house to another, you know the sheer joy of packing an enormous amount of boxes, questioning your reasoning for having so much stuff, deciphering how to get everything done in a limited amount of time, planning for Murphy’s Law, deeply regretting your decision to move, having swollen feet, an aching back, too much info on the brain and finally collapsing in your new space, hopefully with a libation that will bring you some relaxation. This past week, the Chamber and CVB moved offices from our location at 425 W. Oglethorpe Hwy. to the historic Bacon-Fraser House. We now reside at 208 E. Court Street in downtown Hinesville to be exact.
Our staff has gone through the full range of emotions this week, from exasperation to frustration to exhaustion and finally exhilaration. Through it all, we managed to stick together and come out on the other side alive and potentially thriving in our new space. We’re grateful to the Fraser family, for giving us this opportunity to cherish this piece of Liberty County history as our new home.
Thank you to Charm Reed and her husband Glenn, for lending a hand with the packing and to Andy and Tommy Gray for installing our new mailbox! The boss lady did more than her fair share of work by painting some of the offices (historic colors of course) and now we’re just in the middle of unpacking.
So please forgive us for an abbreviated blog this week, but you can imagine all the work that’s left to be done to get us up and running again. Not that we ever really stopped. I’ll leave you with some photos of our journey from our old office space to the new one. And when you have a chance, be sure to stop by, because our new home is yours too.
