Georgia legislators celebrated 3rd Infantry Division Day at the Georgia Capitol on Thursday, March 9th. The event was hosted by Georgia Capitol State Representative Al Williams (D-Midway) and organized by the Liberty County Chamber/CVB. The focus of the event is to demonstrate the significance of Fort Stewart/Hunter Army Airfield to coastal Georgia at a state level, as well as proclaim the pride Georgians have for the brave men and women of the 3rd ID. Rep. Al Williams sponsored a resolution, along with State Rep. Ron Stephens, to honor the 3rd Infantry Division for their tireless efforts on behalf of our country. We were so very #LibertyCountyProud to be a part of this event. Photos courtesy of Georgia House photographers.
Our CVB hosted the Young Adult Liberty Leaders (YALL) for tourism day. We showed them around Liberty County and for tours of the Historic Baptismal Trail in Riceboro, Historic Dorchester Academy in Midway and the Independent Telecommunications Pioneer Association Museum in Hinesville. It was a day filled with learning, exploring and plenty of fun!
Thank you to Liberty County Sheriff Steve Sikes, Captain David Edwards and Captain Keith Jenkins for facilitating an informative and engaging workshop! Participants learned about active shooter awareness, incident response, workplace violence and received demonstrations on basic self-defense techniques.
We had a terrific time celebrating the grand opening and ribbon cutting for DICK’s Sporting Goods located at 863 W Oglethorpe Hwy in Hinesville (Oglethorpe Square Shopping Center). DICK’s Sporting Goods offers a wide selection of sports gear, equipment, apparel and footwear.
We had a fantastic time celebrating a ribbon cutting for LongHorn Steakhouse located at 825 W Oglethorpe Hwy in Hinesville (Oglethorpe Square Shopping Center). LongHorn Steakhouse serves their legendary steaks and fresh, never frozen, chicken and seafood. All surplus food is being donated to the local Manna House to feed the homeless and needy. Proceeds from alcohol sales during their two “friend and family” days are being donated to the Liberty County Recreation Department.
We had a great time celebrating a ribbon cutting for American Fence & Feed and Bootleggers Package Store at their location, 5826 W. Oglethorpe Hwy in Walthourville (near Parker’s #60). Locally-owned and operated, Bootleggers Package Store is the newest addition for Owners Jeff and Julie Dawson who have been running American Fence and Feed for over 18 years.
