Chamber members had a great time networking at the February 2017 Business After Hours hosted by Ameris Bank on Thursday, February 16th at their main branch located at 101 W. Hendry Street in Hinesville. The event was catered by Sho Nuff Smokin’ Good BBQ.
The CVB surprised the folks at our are historical sites with Georgia peach-flavored tea and honey. Just a way to catch up and let them know that we appreciate all they do to welcome visitors and preserve Liberty County’s history.
We had a fantastic time celebrating a ribbon cutting for Southern Sweets Cafe & Bakery at their new location, 112 S. Commerce Street in downtown Hinesville (across from Bradwell Park). Southern Sweets Café & Bakery serves made-from-scratch and custom-made wedding cakes, specialty occasion cakes, cupcakes, cake pops and cake balls in addition to daily baked brownies, banana bread, pound cake, cookies and more!
The Liberty County Chamber of Commerce 2016-2017 Leadership Liberty class had their State Government session in February, hosted by the Georgia EMC & several facets of Georgia State government. The class met with Georgia EMC’s managers in Community Development, Project Management and Retail-Commercial Development. The class then traveled to the Capitol to meet with Representative Williams and Secretary of State Kemp. They also heard from Saralyn Stafford, a Division Director in the Department of Community Affairs and Vernon Keenan, Director of the Georgia Bureau of Investigation, as well as representatives from the Department of Natural Resources, the Government Relations and Policy Department of Economic Development and the Department of Transportation.

They shared the County highlights and accomplishments of 2016, as well as their upcoming plans for 2017.
