20th Annual Illuminated Christmas Parade—Downtown Hinesville will be filled with holiday cheer the night of the Christmas parade! This is one of the few low country parades held at night, and the illuminated floats make for a beautiful and festive show. This year’s theme is Christmas in your PJs, and parade participants and viewers alike are encouraged to dress the part. Make sure they’re PG PJs, though!! No charge for this event, just have fun!

10th Annual Christmas in the Park—This fun-filled, family-friendly event is now in its tenth year and better than ever! The new downtown location allows for more room and the day change from a Monday evening to a Saturday daytime event gives even more people the chance to attend. Plenty of vendor booths will have lovely crafted items for sale, so bring your Christmas shopping list. Kids will be entertained with cookie and ornament decorating, bounce houses, and other activities. Plus, photos with Santa, festive food and drink and entertainment fill the day with holiday cheer. Admission is free.

Dorchester Village

Christmas Bazaar & BBQ Dinner—Handcrafted gifts and unique items take center stage at this event. Visitors can wander through the historic and picturesque brick schoolhouse perusing a wide array homemade crafts and goodies. Santa usually makes an appearance to help keep the kids entertained. Get your Christmas shopping done, then enjoy some delicious bbq for lunch or early dinner.

A Colonial Christmas—Experience a Christmas celebration in the Colonial style at Revolutionary War Fort Morris, on Liberty County’s coastline. This Christmas festivity is miles away from the commercialized holiday with activities such as 18th century music, caroling, dance, a Yule log and firing of the Christmas muskets. Admission is free. Donations are accepted.

Midway Museum Christmas Tea

Christmas Tea at the Midway Museum—Enjoy a properly brewed pot of tea with accompanying finger sandwiches, cookies and sweet treats. Following teatime, head upstairs for a tour of Georgia’s first Colonial museum. The museum itself is in the style of a Colonial cottage and houses artifacts from the Colonial era through the Civil War. The adjacent Midway Congregational Church and Historic Midway Cemetery will also be available for self-guided tours. Reservations must be made in advance.

Illumination Night—This lavish celebration of the Christmas spirit at Dunham Farms gives you the opportunity to spend the evening on Liberty County’s beautiful coast with a cocktail hour and holiday jazz, followed by a walk to the riverside lawn. Each guest is given a candle representing holiday hopes and dreams to set free on the tide and illuminate the night, beginning the holiday season. The evening culminates with a holiday feast fit for royalty. Tickets must be purchased in advance.
