5 Indoor Activities for Cooler Weather in Liberty County
When the air feels a little brisk and most of the leaves have fallen, we know that winter is approaching, even in south Georgia. Although natural beauty is abundant in Liberty County, there are plenty of indoor activities to try around town to get you up and out of the house. Don’t let the cooler temperatures keep you from enjoying our great community. Here are 5 of our favorite safe indoor activities for cooler weather in Liberty County (due to COVID-19 restrictions and social distancing, some businesses have asked their customers to call ahead or book online).
The Hinesville Area Arts Council gallery is a great place to find creative classes that can help spark a new interest! There is a new exhibit just about every month at the Gallery. Take some time during the week or weekend to go experience this unique space. The Hinesville Art Gallery is located in downtown Hinesville and offers classes throughout the year. While you’re there, you can do a little shopping at Martin Mercantile which features the best in local crafts, jewelry and goods that are handmade in and around Liberty County.
Hit the arcade! What better way to enjoy winter break with your kids than bringing out the inner kid in you?! If you’re in Hinesville head over to Fang’s Island for delicious food and a friendly game of air hockey or skee-ball. Or if you’re out in Midway, Melody’s Coastal Café, is serving up fresh dishes and has an arcade that’s sure to be fun for the whole family!

You could also try your hand with painting a pottery masterpiece at Geaux Pottery Painting. This gem is a family-friendly, do it yourself pottery painting shop. This can be a project for the whole family to select a pottery piece, choose your paint colors, and make it your own personal style.

Another great way to have fun and escape the chilly weather is to visit the 3rd Infantry Museum on Fort Stewart. This museum features interactive exhibits, a gallery presenting the history of the 3d Infantry Division and portraits highlighting unit histories. Rounding out our list is Jumpin’ Jacks, a local favorite among the kiddos. Take the entire family to this 15,000 square foot funhouse filled with bounce houses, 40+ arcade games, mini-bowling, a toddler zone, inflatable bumper cars and the best redemption counter in the Hinesville area.
