5 Liberty County adventures for your next Mancation
Feel like the back to school rush is going to be the death of you? Worried you might lose out on your weekly man night soon, that the bromance might start suffering? We have the solution! 5 sure fire ways in Liberty County to help you stay in touch with the boys and keep your man skills and bro bonding on point!
Play Foot Golf.
What’s a mancation without a little sports action? And by sports action I mean getting out there and playing one of the newest sports crazes, foot golf! It just so happens we have a course locally. A trifle easier than real golf, in foot golf you kick a soccer ball into a 21-inch diameter cup in as few shots as possible. The sport uses golf’s basic model including tee boxes, greens, bunkers and hazards. Scorecards display par scores for each hole, just like regular golf. You can play locally on Fort Stewart at Taylor’s Creek and complete a full 18 holes!
Go Fishing.
Channel your inner Curt Gowdy (a famous fisherman!), grab your fishing gear and give Seadog Charters a call! Offering day trips and fishing charters for up to 5 people, James Baker would be happy to show you some of the best fishing in the area! Fishing not your thing, but you love the water? He has options for eco tours and more!
Play Pool or Poker.
Nothing goes better with a pool table or poker than beer and Doodles Billiards in Hinesville has the largest selection of tap beers in the city! Spend the afternoon one-upping your brohans and show them some of those cool trick shots you’ve learned watching YouTube videos or clean their clocks at poker at one of the monthly tourneys. Did we mention they have really awesome food?! Well they do, try the cheese covered tater tots, they’re sure to go great with an ice cold brew!
Go hunting.
Whether hunting quail, deer, pheasant or hogs is your thing Dorchester Shooting Preserve in Midway is sure to offer just the right prey to fuel your inner hunter. They also offer a world class sporting clay course designed by Chris Batha for both novice and master class shooters. There are 10 fully automatic stations each with multiple target presentations. Need lessons to hone your shooting prowess? They offer that too!
Go to a Car Show.
If you love cars and want to see some sweet automobiles both Island Café and Dunkin’ Donuts regularly host Cars & Coffee each month. Island Café is the first Saturday of every month and it’s free to enter your beauty or come drool over some of the fabulous ones on display. Dunkin’ Donuts typically has their event the last Saturday of each month and uses it to support a local charity of some sort. This past month was our friends at K9 Battle Buddies, a group that rescues dogs and trains them as service animals for veterans. They make money by raffling cool prizes like an AR-15 for $10 a ticket!
So call your wolf pack and get on board to try a few new things before the boredom of the end of summer kicks in!
