There are many things to see and explore while you are here like the International Telephone Museum, Geechee Kunda Center in Riceboro or even the shops located in downtown Hinesville. Breakfast visit to Izola’s Country Cooking
Have you truly visited Hinesville if you haven’t tried Izola’s Country Cooking? Located at 809 Willowbrook Drive in Hinesville you can take your pick from a whole buffet of breakfast foods. Enjoy biscuits smothered with sausage gravy to get your morning started right. If you are visiting during the week then Izola’s is open Monday to Wednesday from 11am-8pm; Thursday and Friday 7-10:30am for breakfast and 11:30am-8:00pm for lunch and dinner. If you are enjoying a weekend getaway to Liberty County, they are open Saturday from 8am-12pm.
Go for a kayaking adventure
If you want to spend your first visit to Liberty County on the water, then we have the perfect adventure for you. Head down to the coast and visit the Sunbury Crab Company to rent a kayak and enjoy a beautiful day on the water. This spot has direct access to the Intracoastal Waterway, so keep those tides in mind here. You can venture through the marsh and relax in the sun. Schools of dolphins are known to frequent this area, so keep your eyes open! Come back and order some fresh seafood and a cold beverage when you’re done!
Visit our local brewery
There’s nothing more relaxing than enjoying a delicious hand-crafted beer at a local brewery. Split Fin Brewery offers a wide variety of beer that surely quenches your thirst. Not to mention it’s Liberty County’s first-ever brewery! This cool and new spot is located in Midway, just 15 miles from Fort Stewart, and 2-ish miles from Interstate 95. We recommend the Chocolate Stout and the Raspberry Gose. A must-see during your first visit to Liberty County.

Visit downtown Hinesville to shop, dine and experience the core of our great county. Enjoy a vibrant shopping experience with a visit to Molly Maxine, a women’s boutique; Cakamile for all-natural products for men and women or a brand-new addition, Vodka’s Shoe Bar which specializes in women’s shoes. Take a load off and dine at The Brickwall Café or enjoy fine German cuisine at Zum Rosenhof German Restaurant.
Museums and Historical Sites
A must while visiting Liberty County is one of our many historic sites. Teeming with history if it’s your first time visiting, you must take a trip to Dorchester Academy which was one of the earliest schools for freed slaves in the United States.
