1.Melody’s Coastal Café – Shrimp Tacos
Located in the coastal town of Midway, Melody’s is a family-owned restaurant that makes their great menu items from scratch. Their menu is a balanced mix of seafood and comfort food. But there’s one item you absolutely don’t want to miss and that’s their shrimp tacos. These tasty tacos are served on warm tortillas and topped with lettuce, cabbage, cilantro and cotija cheese. You can choose to have your shrimp, cod or mahi-mahi either blackened, grilled, fried or teriyaki! No matter how you like them, these tacos are sure to hit the spot every time.
2. Sunbury Crab Company – Bacon Wrapped Scallops
Named one of the Top Ten Southern Seafood Dives by Southern Living, Sunbury Crab Company is a delightful coastal gem with the most incredible view of the water. Having their own dock on site ensures the seafood doesn’t get fresher than it does at the Sunbury Crab Co. One of their most favored menu items is their bacon wrapped scallops. This coastal hideaway is one of Liberty County’s most popular hidden gems. Be sure to make reservations, because they are always booked!

3. The Yellow Bee – Shrimp & Grits
Start your morning with a satisfying brunch at The Yellow Bee, specifically their shrimp & grits. Enjoy creamy grits with a Cajun blend of spices topped with brown gravy and juicy shrimp. Add bacon and you’ll be licking your bowl in no time! But don’t stop there! The Yellow Bee is Liberty County’s only mimosa café. Pair your shrimp & grits with bottomless, fruity mimosas like their Watermelon or Tropical Mimosa.
4. Walthourville Meat Market- Low Country Boil (Personal Trays)
Low country boils are a local legend here in Liberty County. Our coastal waters are perfect for fishing, crabbing and shrimping, so it’s no surprise that a lot of our cuisines are seafood-based. There are so many ways to prepare this Southern delicacy, and the Walthourville Meat Market is one to try. All of their low country boils comes with potatoes, sausage, a boiled egg, corn and your choice of shrimp, snow crab legs, lobster and/or crawfish–delish!
6. M&B Seafood- Fried Fish Sandwich
Tucked away on a backroad in Hinesville, M&B Seafood is a true hidden gem here in Liberty County. This veteran-owned restaurant offers low country boils, wings, crab legs, shrimp and fried seafood. Their signature spice blend and sauce has been perfected for over 25 years–this is true flavor y’all. The fried fish sandwich is a fan-favorite served with fresh fries, fried in peanut oil. Their motto “sauced up & drippin down” could not be truer about the food at M&B!
