Back to the Basics: Event Planning Guide

The weather in Liberty County is finally warming up. The sun is shining and the birds are once again singing. The first day of spring is right around the corner and for many people this is a sign that event season will soon be in full swing. This week we are sharing a few tips & offering guidance on what to do after you’ve decided on what event you want to have.

Make sure you have the right permits for your event.

When it comes to putting on an event, especially an outside one, it is important to make sure you are fully aware of what you can & cannot do. Depending on your location you may need approval from the specific city you plan to have it in. The city of Hinesville has certain permits you must fill out and abide by, you can find their requirements here. For all other cities and the county parks we encourage you to contact the Liberty Consolidated Planning Commission.

The newly renovated park has wonderful additions such as a stage with electrical capabilities & a splash pad for the kiddos. To reserve the park you will need to contact the Hinesville Downtown Development Authority.
  • Jones Creek Park- found on the Isle of Wight this is a unique park with beautiful sunsets & occasional dolphin sightings, what more could you ask for? This location also offers amenities such as a covered pavilion with kitchen and grill. You can reserve the park by contacting the LCRD.
  • Hillary Park- located in Walthourville has picnic table seating for 50, restrooms, a kitchen & a large charcoal grill with an adjacent playground, walking trail & softball field. You can find more information about the park & rental information here.
