Fascinating Tidbits that You Never Knew About Our Communications Coordinator

Communications is an essential part of any business whether it be through social media, face to face or on phone. It’s the glue that keeps a company and its customers informed. That’s why we value our Communications Coordinator, Shima Henderson so much, she is great about effectively communicating what it is we do and why we do it.

Shima was raised in Independence, Kansas where she attended junior college before finishing her Bachelor’s degree in sports management, with a minor in business administration from the University of Kansas. In addition to being a full-time student she was also on the cheer team, keeping her schedule full of studying, exercising and game day prepping! Cheer has been her passion since she was young, participating in gymnastics and power tumbling to increase skill and stamina.

After college she married Leo Henderson, and they are expecting a baby boy soon. Although she and her husband were surprised by baby Liam, both are overjoyed to be adding a new member to the Henderson family. “Our greatest baby moment so far was seeing him move around in the ultrasound for the first time, “said Shima. When she isn’t hard at work, she is home playing with her two fur babies Kane (German Shepard Husky) and Lea (German Shepard), going for walks and playing out in the yard.

Shima is still relatively new to the Chamber but has shown herself to be a quick learner and hard worker. She loves collecting quotes and pictures for the Chamber website and Twitter. Aside from gathering and posting content from events, she also writes press releases for local news sources and blogs for the Right Blend on our website. “I love growing knowledge about Liberty County and getting to know the people in the community,” said Shima.
