Fun Things to Do at Home as a Family

Have you exhausted everything on your Netflix and Hulu accounts? Are you bored at home with nothing to do? Making memories as a family doesn’t have to be expensive or require a bunch of planning. Here are some fun things you can do at home to bond and create memories that will last a lifetime.
Homemade Salsa Contest
Who doesn’t love some homemade salsa?! Split the family into groups or you can do this individually. Have everyone make their own homemade salsa. When everyone is done, each person can try the other’s creations and take a vote! The winner can get a prize or maybe pass off their chores for a week! The best part? Bloody Mary Contest
Is everyone in your household enough to drink? Do you love a good Bloody Mary with your breakfast or brunch? Make the most of this time by having a Bloody Mary contest! Same concept as our salsa contest, but maybe a tad bit more fun the more you taste. Another reason this is a great activity? You can also get many of your ingredients from our Farmers Market subscription box!

Art Night
Most homes have a selection of art supplies you can bust out for a super art night. Either get out all the art supplies you have and cover your table before letting each person pick their own type of art or create different art stations where you can rotate between mediums. Color at one table before moving to another for some finger paint. Channel your inner Picasso and have fun! Not the best artist? That’s ok! You can join the Hinesville Area Arts Council for their free live tutorials!

Indoor Photoshoot
If you have teenagers who are always stuck to their phones and taking selfies, why not beat them at their own game? We are hosting Selfie Scavenger Hunts every Wednesday on our Facebook page! Have them take as many of the prompted selfies as they can and post it on our page. Each selfie is one entry into our drawing for a $50 gift card to a local business!
Treasure Hunt
Choose a treasure (something the kids actually would want to find) and then hide it. Draw a treasure map that will lead them to it but will still take them awhile. Set them off to find it! Bonus points for using flashlights in a dark house.
Picnic in Your Backyard
Tired of being cooped up inside? Step outside and enjoy a nice, relaxing picnic! Having a picnic doesn’t take much. Grab an old blanket or sheet, make some sandwiches, and grab a couple of drinks.
