Get to Know Our Finance & Operations Manager

This week on our “Getting to Know the Chamber Staff” series, we sat down with our Finance and Operations Manager, Valerie Andrews. This series of blogs will focus on our staff so you can get a better understanding of who you’re chatting with on the phone, meeting at a luncheon or networking with at Business After Hours.

Valerie has been with us at the Chamber and CVB since January 2017. She manages the finances for the Liberty County Chamber and the Convention and Visitors Bureau. She also handles our day-to-day operations and most things human resource related. Due to her long list of responsibilities, her days often look very different from one another. A few of her responsibilities include lots of invoicing and emailing, creating financial reports and interacting with our Chamber members and board members. Crunching numbers and dealing with Quickbooks is certainly not for everyone, but Valerie sure is good at it!

We asked Valerie what she loves about her position and she responded, “I really enjoy being so involved with the community and getting to interact with so many people and all the different types of businesses. I also like getting to chat with our members at all of our different events.”

Valerie has lived in Georgia most of her life, but she loves to call Liberty County home. “The diversity of our community makes Liberty County really wonderful. There are so many different cultures represented that makes it such a cool place to live and experience,” Valerie said.

Outside of work Valerie loves to shop local to support our Chamber members and try new restaurants. “We have such a melting pot of different cuisines here so it is fun to get out and try new foods!” she expressed. She is a total foodie, so we tend to look to her for recommendations.

In their spare time, her family frequents Bryant Commons for her children to play on the playground. They also love to take their rescue American Bulldog Terrier pup, Maya, to the dog park to play. Her family has 3 carnivorous Tiger Oscar fish who have each grown to about the size of an adult’s hand!

Valerie is a crucial part of our team and we are so thankful for her hard work and dedication to the Chamber!
