Harris Ace Hardware

Started in 1972, Harris ACE Hardware has made sure that the number one lesson they preach is the ‘Customer is always right.’ They strive daily to make sure they provide an exceptional customer experience every day to every customer by challenging themselves to just a better human being by learning from their actions the day before. They have everything you need from electric grills to charcoal & propane. They even carry Traeger grills and the Big Green Egg. Both come in various sizes and models. So be sure to stop by and grab everything you need for the best 4th of July ever! Also be sure to check out their Facebook page as they periodically host grilling classes! The best part of Harris Ace Hardware? Their commitment to giving back to every community that their stores are located in. Recently the Hinesville store helped build a wheelchair ramp for a Long County resident who lost his leg to diabetes.

Dawson’s General Store

You should also be sure to stop by Dawson’s and check out their wide variety of plants, planters and more.  And if you’re having your bbq anywhere near a pond, lake or river they can also get you set up with the perfect rod and reel to laze away the afternoon while your ribs cook on the grill. And don’t forget to check out their selection of rocking chairs! You want to make sure your guests are comfortable while you cook for them! They are also selling the new book, Growing Up Coastal by local Clay Sikes. This would be the perfect addition to your summer bbq for after the guests have left, and you’re ready to slow it down before tackling all of the dishes.

No BBQ is complete without a cold refreshing beverage. Luckily right next door to Dawson’s General Store is Bootleggers Package Store. They have all of your summer drink essentials. With a wide assortment of wine, beer and spirits in their 10,000 sq ft store for you to choose from we don’t think you can go wrong! It would also be a great time to grab a bottle of bourbon to use in our Sweet Iced Tea with a Kick recipe! From high end to low end and everything in between, they will have what you are looking for to make your bbq beverages a success.

Walthourville Meat Market

The last stop has to be the Walthourville Meat Market! This locally owned business has fresh meats, meat packages, free hand cuts and can customize any package to meet your holiday needs. And did we mention you can buy food already cooked?! We encourage you to try their Cuban sandwich, low country boil, or really anything! With weekly specials, you should definitely follow them on Facebook to make sure you’re keeping track. If you’re a fan of steak, they even carry Tomahawk ribeye on occasion as well.
