Merry & Bright Liberty County Events Guaranteed to Fill You With Holiday Cheer this December
It’s November y’all! Which means the holiday season is at our doorstep! Christmas songs on the radio, quality time spent with family and friends, homes trimmed with lights and lots of good food are just a few things we can all look forward to in the coming weeks! But something we can’t get enough of each year are all the incredible events happening right here in Liberty County! We put together this list of must-see events so you and your loved ones don’t miss out on all the holiday cheer and fun!
Hinesville for the Holidays
The heart of downtown Hinesville explodes with holiday cheer each year as locals and elected officials gather in Bradwell Park for a night of fun! Arts & crafts, games, activities, a trackless train, pictures with Santa, sweet treats and more are available free for the kids to enjoy. City of Hinesville officials flip the switch and light up the giant tree located in the center of the park. This joyous event will take place Thursday, December 5 from 5-8pm.
23rd Annual Illuminated Christmas Parade
If you haven’t experienced the annual illuminated Christmas parade in downtown Hinesville you are definitely missing out! Each year the streets are lined with spectators as floats decorated in thousands of lights stream by spreading holiday cheer. Be sure to keep an eye out for ole Saint Nick himself! The parade will take place Friday, December 6 starting at 6:30pm.

A Colonial Christmas
Step back in time and experience the Christmas season from the days of old with our friends at Fort Morris Historic Site. Actors in period clothing will lead you through an evening filled with Colonial Christmas traditions including music, caroling, dancing and refreshments. Be sure to keep warm around the bonfire and witness the burning of the Yule log! Be sure to mark your calendars and head to the fort Saturday, December 7 from 6-8pm.

Midway Museum’s Annual Christmas Tea
Another incredible blast from the past takes place at the only Colonial house museum in Georgia, the Midway Museum. Each year volunteers of the museum decorate the 18th-century coastal cottage replica with traditional holiday greenery both inside and out to create the perfect setting for a Christmas tea party. Tea and light refreshments are offered to guests by hosts dressed in traditional Colonial attire and is followed with a tour of the museum and grounds. This year’s event will take place on Saturday, December 14. Reservations are required to attend this event so be sure to book your spot by calling (912) 844-5837 or emailing rsvpmidwaymuseum@gmail.com.
