Ribbon Cutting for Coastal Meat and Seafood

Coastal Meat and Seafood held a grand opening and ribbon cutting in conjunction with the Liberty County Chamber of Commerce on February 21. The event was held at their location at 9784 Seagrass Plaza, Suite C, E. Oglethorpe Hwy., in Midway. Owners Gary and Laurie Richardson welcomed staff, family, friends, Chamber staff, Chamber board members and members of the community to the event.

Daniel Clark, Chamber Board Chairman welcomed them as members and congratulated them on their grand opening.

“We’re here to support you in your business endeavors and we wish you much success,” Clark said.

Richardson, who has prior experience as a business owner, wanted to help his friend, Mike King get a job. King is a butcher with thirty years of meat cutting experience and the two teamed up to open Coastal Meat and Seafood. Richardson says he has 1st Chatham Bank and the SBA to thank for funding his business.

Coastal Meat and Seafood has a variety of fresh cuts meats, pork and poultry such as ribeyes, roasts, whole chickens and pork chops. They also have seafood such as crab legs, shrimp and a variety of fish. The meats are fresh cut and fresh ground and do not contain preservatives.

Richardson stresses that customer service, quality products and cleanliness are the foundations of his business.

“No one has a butcher anymore and I wanted to bring a local butcher and a neighborhood feel back to the community,” said Richardson. “We cut and grind our meats daily and if you don’t see something out that you want, ask for it and we can cut it fresh.”

Richardson explained that he wants to keep prices reasonable to keep customers returning for more.

“I want people to feel like they’ve gotten a quality product for a good price,” Richardson said.

Coastal Meat and Seafood is open Monday through Saturday from 9:00am until 7:00pm and on Sundays from 12:00pm to 5:00pm.
