Ribbon Cutting for Happy Tails Personal Pet Care Service
Happy Tails Personalized Pet Care Services held its ribbon cutting at the Liberty County Chamber of Commerce on May 20.
Lisa Davis, the Chamber’s Administrative Assistant, welcomed the business along with support from other members.
Happy Tails has been in business since February of this year and offer personalized care for any pet. Owner Barbara Nabb noted that the business was licensed, insured and that she was certified in pet-sitting. “Insurance is really critical for me, the customer and the pet in keeping all parties safe.” The business offers over-night and daytime pet-sitting, along with grooming.
Nabb is originally from San Jose, California and joined the military at age 22. She is an Iraq war veteran and retired in 2012 after 25 years of service. Starting her own small business was inspired by her family, who also own their share of small businesses. “I’ve been surrounded by pets since I was a kid. My dad loved animals and so we grew up with cats, dogs, and parakeets”, Nabb said. She also noted that she currently owns two dogs of her own.
She currently volunteers at the Humane Society and is hoping to expand her business to a boarding facility so that she can take in animals from them.
“I put personalized in the title of our business because every pet is different. You can’t put them all in the same place and give them the same care. There are so many different factors that have to be considered in order to properly care for each animal”, added Nabb.
