Sit Back & Relax in Liberty County
National Plan a Vacation Day always falls on the last Tuesday of January. This observance day was created to encourage Americans to plan some time off to relax. There are so many factors that go into planning a vacation and picking a destination is the most important part! Liberty County is the perfect place for you to plan your next vacation, and we’re going to tell you a few reasons why!
Going to a large tourist destination is always fun, but this also means that you have to pay inflated prices to be able to do things. Here in Liberty County, most of our sites are accessible free of charge!
You can visit outdoor trails such as the Historic Baptismal Trail and Cay Creek Wetlands Interpretive Center for no cost at all. Other places like the ITPA Telephone Museum and the Midway Museum have a small admission fee but nothing like you’d see in a big city!
Somewhere That You Wouldn’t Normally Go
Most of Liberty County’s attractions are what you would call, “off the beaten path.” A lot of activities around here will not be found right off of Interstate 95, and we see that as a plus because it gives you a chance to explore some our hidden gems! What can you find around here and where can you go? Come see us and you can find out!
Something for Everyone
We like to say that Liberty County is, “The Right Blend” because this is a place where there is truly something for everyone. Dorchester Academy or even the Old Liberty County jail are all places where you can indulge your mind and have a good time.
You can drop a kayak in the water, go for a walk with your pets or hangout with friends at Bryant Commons. You can even learn about our rich military history that dates back hundreds of years at Fort Morris!
Food is something that brings everyone together and here in Liberty County, we’ve got plenty of it! We have all kinds of different places for you to try! If you’re looking for a true representation of Liberty County in one place look no further than Sunbury Crab Company. This is a place where you can eat yummy seafood with a view of the water!
A unique part of Liberty County is that we have many places that specialize in international cuisine! Looking for something out of the norm? Try out Tazza Kabob Grillhouse for an Afghan fusion meal or Zum Rosenhoff which serves authentic German cuisine!
A place would be nothing without the people in it. In Liberty County we love to be able to tell people about the wide range of diversity that we have here and all of the different people who make us who we are. This is in a large way thanks to Fort Stewart which is the largest military installation east of the Mississippi river!
It’s never too early to start planning a vacation, so why not start now?! After all, Liberty County has, “The Right Blend” for everyone. Y’all come see us!
