Explore the outdoors at some of our favorite spots!
Located in Riceboro, you’ll find the Historic Baptismal Trail.
The serenity and peace you will feel as you take a stroll down the boardwalk is something hard to recreate. It was an active holy place for over 100 years!
If you’re looking for another boardwalk to explore, make your way over to Cay Creek Wetlands Interpretive Center in Midway.
As you walk, you’ll move from the fresh water swamp to the brackish water of the creek, and there’s a 15-foot watchtower located on the trail that offers a birds-eye view of the scenery.
Grab some delicious BBQ for lunch.
After working up an appetite exploring the great outdoors, stop by Smokin’ Pig for a yummy meal.
Their menu is full of delicious BBQ meats and all the homemade fixin’s you could ever ask for!
Head over to Sunbury for the perfect afternoon!
Fill your afternoon with history at our state historic site, Fort Morris.
The 1-mile walking trail gives breathtaking views of our barrier island, St. Catherines, and circles the earthenwork walls of the old fort. The museum is closed on Sundays, but there are markers throughout the site to give you an insight to the history made there. The site is open daily dawn to dusk. Complete all of the coastal vibes with fresh, local seafood and the best views.
Complete your weekend with dinner at the Sunbury Crab Company, an open-air restaurant located right on the water.
This local hotspot features a menu focused around the freshest seafood you can find! Craving a basket of wild Georgia shrimp or a bucket of blue crabs caught that day? They’ve got it! If you’re up for one more stroll after dinner, the views from the dock are unbeatable!
