Best Ways to Beat the Heat in Liberty County

Summer is heating up in Liberty County, and there’s no better place to enjoy it. From pools, parks and waterways to trails, marshes and outdoor adventures, there are plenty of ways to make the most of the season while staying cool. Here are a few of our favorite ways to beat the heat in Liberty County.

Go for a Swim

The Liberty County Recreation Department (LCRD) has two of them. Both locations are open from May 25th through August 1st for only $3 per person. The recreation department also offers season and individual passes. You can even reserve them for private parties! Plus, there are on-duty lifeguards to make sure everyone stays safe while having fun. Whether you take the whole family out for a day or spend some time relaxing in the pool on your own, our local recreation department has you covered.

Another public pool that offers fun summer activities is at our local YMCA. The Liberty County YMCA offers fun experiences including sports and countless pool-related events. They teach swim lessons and give summer pool passes that grant access to their pools and splash pads. They even have water aerobics classes and summer camp programs for children with daily access to the pool. The YMCA pool is special around here because not only is it an indoor pool, but it also has lap lanes and a diving board! Stop in and take advantage of all the YMCA has to offer.

Get on the Water with Slack Tide Tiki

The tiki boat has a Bluetooth sound system to play any music you want, a large cooler for your food and beverages and a bathroom. Take the whole family out and enjoy what our lovely coast has to offer.
