Celebrating Liberty in Liberty County
: 3rd ID
Why is Liberty County called Liberty County? Well, let us tell you. This amazing place that we call home got the name Liberty because we were the first county, St. John’s Parish at the time, in the state to vote for Liberty and become free from British rule! And with that, it is essential to celebrate all the men and women who fought for our freedom and liberties. Here in Liberty County, there are numerous ways to celebrate, and we’ll share some of our favorite things to do and places to visit!

Salute to Summer on Fort Stewart
Every year, Fort Stewart opens its gates to bring together civilians and soldiers for an afternoon or evening of fun. This year, the Salute to Summer Concert will be held on June 27th. The gates of the event will open at 3:30 pm, and you can enjoy food, family-friendly activities, and more! As the day goes on, you can pick your spot out on the lawn and get ready for the concert! This year’s artists are Quavo, Chase Rice, and DJ Rock! At the end of the event, a fireworks finale will take place that you won’t want to miss! This free event takes place annually to celebrate and thank the heroes who work tirelessly to protect our freedom and liberties every day. For more information on this event, click here!

Visit One of Our Memorials
Liberty County has several memorials to honor its fallen soldiers. One of our favorite memorials to visit is the Veterans Memorial Walk, located at Bryant Commons Park. Enjoy a beautiful walk down the path lined with trees as you pay tribute to those who have served our country. Another memorial dedicated to those who gave their lives for our country is the Warriors Walk, located on Fort Stewart. This site features a path lined with trees devoted to soldiers who have fallen. We highly recommend visiting both of these locations, as they serve as poignant reminders of what we lost to gain the freedoms and liberties we enjoy today.
No matter what you choose to do while visiting Liberty County, be sure to take lots of photos and tag us at #ExploreLiberty so we can see all the fun, too! We hope you get to enjoy all the freedoms and liberties we all love so much, and thank the ones who make it possible! Liberty County wouldn’t be what it is today if we didn’t have the fantastic men and women who fight so hard to make it possible. We truly thank every one of them.
