Chamber/CVB New Year’s Resolutions for 2024

An unspoken tradition around this time of year is goal setting. Heading into the new year folks like to look back at what the last year has been like, realize the things that went really well or really poorly and make plans for the future. These New Year’s resolutions become our blueprint as we step into January and hopefully guide us to success. We’re sharing some of our resolutions with you below, and we hope you enjoy!Resolutions

Alexis Carter, Administrative Assistant

“I didn’t make very many resolutions in 2023 but my big one was to not always put other people feelings above my own. I feel like I’m sticking with it pretty well, but I’m still working on it. In 2024, I want to take more spontaneous weekend trips with my husband. I also want 2024 to be the year that I start living in the moment and enjoy the present and worry less about what’s going to happen in the next hour or the next day,” said Carter.

Bobby Reynolds, Program Coordinator

“This past year I made a few resolutions for the first time and I even completed many of them. In the upcoming year, I have decided to be dedicated to professional and personal development. So, I will be working hard at perfecting what I do all year long,” said Reynolds.

Emma Faircloth, Creative & Content Coordinator

“I make resolutions every year and can’t seem to follow through with many of them, but who’s surprised? Making the resolutions are easy, but following through with them is the hard part. However, in 2023 I did accomplish one!  I wanted to lose weight, and I have lost almost 50 pounds this year!
In 2024, I plan to save and manage my money better – I may have a litttttleeee bit of a shopping problem, but I would love to be debt free at some point in time,” said Faircloth.

Desiree Riley, Chief Operating Officer

“I like to make resolutions every year, even if I don’t always stick with them. Last year, I did do a little more traveling and I actually managed to set aside time for myself, so that was really nice! This year, I want to be more goal-oriented with my resolutions to increase my chances for success. In 2024, I want to try to learn a new language and read a new book every month. I actually started reading a lot more towards the end of this year, so I want to keep it going for in 2024!” said Riley.

Valerie Andrews, Finance Coordinator

“I usually make a new year’s resolution every year. In 2023 I made it a goal to get healthier, travel more, and spend more quality time with family, and I completed all 3! In 2024, my resolutions are to get my passport, start a workout routine and complete my Bachelor’s degree,” said Andrews.

Leah Poole, Chief Executive Officer

“I think we all make resolutions at some point, so I’m sure I have as well. In 2024, I want to slow down and take the time to enjoy my son’s senior year of high school, and his last few months at home before college,” said Poole.

We hope these resolutions inspire you to make a few of your own and make 2024 your best year yet. Don’t forget to get up, get out and #exploreliberty as you work on completing your resolutions!
