The Liberty County Chamber of Commerce has close to 500 AMAZING members. They add a great amount of value to Liberty County and the surrounding area. Each member brings something special to our chamber family, and we want to take time to highlight our members by telling their stories. This week we are happy to highlight the Sunbury Crab Company!

What is the Sunbury Crab Co.?
The Sunbury Crab Company is a family-owned seafood restaurant located right here in Liberty County! Their restaurant serves fresh caught blue crab and a variety of other seafood. The Maley family, who built the restaurant from the ground up, harvest their own crabs and oysters from St. Catherines Sound, a short boat ride up the Medway River from the restaurant’s marina. This past May they celebrated the 18th Anniversary of opening their restaurant.

We took a peek at the menu and from appetizers to the main course, even we had a hard time choosing! Some of our favorites include starting with bacon cheese fries or the seared Ahi tuna. For dinner we recommend the ½ pound of locally caught fried shrimp or the crispy scored Flounder. Really you can’t go wrong! Clusters of wild local oysters are served steamed when in season, from fall to spring so be sure to check those out as well.

“We really enjoyed our first time at Sunbury Crab Company. We tried the blue crabs, garlic shrimp and steamed shrimp. Loved the river view and being able to eat local seafood!! We will definitely be back. We drove from the islands near Tybee, packed our patience because we know going out to eat these days can be tough, and enjoyed the beautiful dock and watching dolphins while waiting for our food. Life is too short to complain these days about the wait for food, etc. We have no complaints.
