#9 Cay Creek Wetlands Interpretive – Midway
Liberty County has no shortage of lush & beautiful marshland. Cay Creek Wetlands Interpretive Center provides a journey through fresh and saltwater ecosystems. This trail is 7/10 of a mile and filled with stunning wildlife and plants. You can visit seven days a week from sunrise until sunset at 189 Charlie Butler Road, Midway Admission is free.

Liberty County has abundant dirt roads, so planning an afternoon for a drive through nature is easy. It’s also a great way to snap a couple of amazing photos like this one of a purple sky during sunset!
#7 Coastal Waterways
One of the best things about Liberty County is the beautiful skies over the water, especially if the weather is good. There’s nothing better than a day with blue skies and sunshine reflecting off the water!
#6 Sandbar
Sandbars in the Jerico River are a great place to have a beach-like experience without the crowds. Keep in mind that access to sandbars depends upon the tide, so be sure to check out the My Tide Times app for the latest updates.

One of the perks of living on the coast is being able to venture out on the water at your leisure.. The boat ramp in Sunbury makes for a great coastal backdrop that will elevate any photo. Visit early in the morning or in the evening to catch a glimpse of some breathtaking sunrises and sunsets!

The Historic Bacon Fraser House is a beautiful example of southern architecture, surrounded by lush greenery and a gorgeous canopy of trees decorated with Spanish moss. You can tour this historic home at 208 E. Court Street, we are open M-F 8:30am until 5:00pm. Be sure to call 912.368.4445 to schedule a tour.
