7 Best Spots to Grab a Beer in Liberty County
International Beer Day is Friday, August 4th, and we can’t think of a better way to celebrate than with a cold beer! Lucky for y’all, we’ve got a couple of different places around Liberty County to grab a celebratory drink while you cool down from the summer heat.
1) Zum Rosenhof
While strolling around downtown Hinesville, you’ll come across Zum Rosenhof. This authentic German restaurant has delicious German beer! The flavors of each brew are very unique, and we can promise that you’ve never had one that tastes like these. Along with the food and beer, they offer a one-of-a-kind atmosphere. The moment you enter the restaurant, you will feel like a part of the family. If you’re having trouble choosing the beer you want, we recommend the Warsteiner!
2) Rodeo Mexican Restaurant
Located in Hinesville, you’ll find a local favorite, Rodeo Mexican Restaurant. Order your favorite Mexican dish and pair it with a beer! Rodeo has an array of choices that come on tap and bottled. You won’t be disappointed in the options! If beer isn’t your thing, order a margarita frozen, on the rocks or a tower. Any of these options are sure to quench your thirst!
3) Hops on Fire Brewing
If you’re in the mood for a craft beer, visit Hops on Fire Brewing! This is Liberty County’s only brewery and it’s located right off of Highway 84 in Midway. Have a glass or two or order a flight. Grab a pizza from the Pizza Peddler or Melody’s Coastal Café to enjoy with your beer if you plan to stay a while. Up for some additional fun? Play a board game while you relax and enjoy a cold glass of beer or throw some axes out back!
4) The Parrot and Frog
Downtown Hinesville’s first bar, The Parrot and Frog can be found on Commerce Street! This newly revamped building has a unique vibe that makes you feel right at home. Grab a beer and relax! Not really a beer person? Order something different that is more your speed. Choose from signature cocktails, wine slushies and much more! Quick tip: The Parrot and Frog does not serve food, but customers are welcome to bring their own food in with the purchase of a beverage!
5) Doodles Billiards
Play a game of pool while sipping on your favorite bottle of beer at Doodles Billiards in Hinesville! They serve em’ up in singles or in buckets of 5. Doodles is the perfect place to chill out! In addition to beer and pool, they have some of the best wings in Hinesville. Get them tossed in the sauce of your choice and add on some French fries for the perfect meal. You’re sure to have a night to remember at Doodles!
6) Sunbury Crab Company
Drinks and a view? Say no more! The Sunbury Crab Company is known for their spectacular fresh seafood and unmatched coastal vibe. It’s the perfect place to relax, so sit back, enjoy a cold beer and soak it all in! They do require that you make a reservation, so make sure to give them a call before you head out there.
7) Melody’s Coastal Café
Located in Midway, you’ll find Melody’s. It is a quaint and cozy coastal café with a wide food and drink menu. Choose your favorite beer that they offer on tap, or choose a bottled domestic, import or a cocktail. Your drink will taste best when paired with a delicious pizza or one of their unique weekly specials! Go see them Monday-Friday from 4-6pm for happy hour to see what the hype is about.
