28th Annual Liberty County Chamber of Commerce Illuminated Christmas Parade

The 28th Annual Illuminated Christmas Parade will take place on Friday, December 6th. Every year over 15,000 people attend to watch downtown Hinesville shine, and the streets are filled with dancers, cheerleaders, bands and more. Be sure to arrive before the start of the festivities at 6:30pm so you can catch one of the biggest parades around that spotlights local businesses and community groups of Liberty County.

This is one of the only illuminated Christmas parades in southeast Georgia, so you don’t want to miss out on the fun! Keep reading to find out everything that you need to know if you plan to come.

Here are a few things to remember when attending:

• It will get busy downtown, so arrive early for a good spot.
• Bring a blanket or chair if you don’t want to sit on the ground. Seating is not provided!
• The streets downtown will close at different times, so please pay attention to road closures! You can find these on our Facebook page.

• Don’t forget to pack snacks! The parade rolls out at 6:30pm, which is right around supper time. This is a great time for you to try one of our delicious local restaurants, such as Zum Rosenhof, Baldinos Giant Jersey Subs or Rodeo Mexican.
• Word on the street is that there will be a very special guest riding at the end of the parade, so you’ll want to be on the lookout for a jolly fellow in a red outfit shouting HO, HO, HO!
• You can enjoy the Christmas spirit as the parade goes by, snapping pictures and helping the Liberty County Chamber of Commerce celebrate 28 years of Christmas parade magic! For more information on the parade, be sure to check the Liberty Chamber Facebook page!

• We always recommend that you check the weather before attending the parade; you may need to bring a blanket because it might be chilly. Who knows, you may even need an umbrella!
• Be respectful to those around you! Everyone is coming to enjoy the Christmas season and have a good time.

• Do not go into the streets at any time! Remember the parade is filled with large moving vehicles and groups, and we don’t want anyone getting hurt.
• There will be live television coverage from WTOC, as well as other media outlets! Please be courteous and do not block the cameras on Main Street.
• Have fun! Our parade participants are always thrilled to see everyone’s smiling faces and love the support.

The 28th Annual Illuminated Christmas Parade happens at our favorite time of the year, and we are always excited to put together this event. But it wouldn’t be the same without the huge crowds, the volunteers and everyone who makes this parade happen every year. It is sure to be the best yet!
