National Veteran Small Business Week
October 31st-November 4th is National Veterans Small Business Week. This is a time to celebrate and acknowledge veteran owned businesses across the nation. More than 2.4 million U.S. businesses are owned by veterans, about nine percent of all American businesses. Here in Liberty County, we have some amazing veteran-owned and operated businesses, from delicious food and entertainment to home care and so much more. We want to focus and highlight a few of our veteran-owned businesses in Liberty County so check them out below and show your support.
Keep Liberty Beautiful
Dr. Karen Bell is the Executive Director of Keep Liberty Beautiful (KLB), which is a community education and volunteer action program dedicated to community improvement, and an affiliate of the national organization, Keep America Beautiful. Dr. Bell started out as a part time employee and later became a volunteer & board member. In 2018 she took over as the Executive Director. Southern Shoots Photography
Dean Coffman currently serves our community as a deputy with the Liberty County Sheriff’s Office. In his free time, he enjoys taking photos and decided to turn it into a business. Southern Shoots Photography is a well-rounded photography service with a vision of creating and capturing your special moments. They have an array of services, ranging from portraits to full events. She’s an expert in the local area, and brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise about buying and selling real estate to Liberty County. Big Dawgs
Mitch Boston has brought his love of hot dogs from Brooklyn down to Liberty County with our first hot dog place- Big Dawgs. The restaurant brings everyone a taste of home with their diverse menu. Boston wants to give each soldier a small taste of home with hot dogs topped with some of your favorites from cities across the United States. These are not your average hot dogs these are what they call “BIG DAWGS”. These are a quarter pound dog packed with 100% all beef. He serves up his signature dogs with a big smile!
