Tell a Member’s Business Story: One Stop Package
The Liberty County Chamber of Commerce has close to 500 AMAZING members. From restaurateurs to retailers and everything in between. They add a great amount of value to Liberty County and the surrounding area. Each member brings something special to our chamber family, and we want to take time to highlight our members by telling their business stories. We had one of our program coordinators meet with Mr. CJ Patel from One Stop Package to get his story.
Who are you and what is your business?
My name is CJ Patel, and I am the owner of One Stop Package, located on the corner of 760 E Oglethorpe Hwy here in Hinesville.
Why did you open up a liquor store?
I had wanted to start my own business for a long time. Moving to Hinesville allowed me the opportunity to purchase One Stop, an already established and successful operation in 2004. Eventually, I plan on expanding the business on the site that we are currently located on. COVID postponed construction along with the prices. We are hoping that we get to start the expansion in the next year or so.
What brought you to Liberty County?
I was born and raised in Ahmedabad, Gujarat, India. After living in Chicago for a while it was a lot colder than what I am used to, so I then moved to Hinesville in June of 2003.
What is something people don’t know about you?
We are very involved in the community. Recently we supported the Hinesville Police Department program, “Shop with a Cop.” We are also founding members of the Regional Indian Cooperative (RIC), which is a group of Indian business owners who share a passion for helping our community.
What do you do in your free time?
I don’t have much free time because I am so actively involved in the day-to-day operations of my business, however, what little time I do have I enjoy spending that time with my family. I am very family-oriented and love watching my identical twin boys grow up!
What made you join the Chamber?
I decided to join the Chamber as a way to connect with the community and build a network for my business. The Chamber has helped us be seen as the valuable community partner that we are.
What do you like about being a chamber member?
I enjoy chatting with the Chamber staff, whether they come into the store to conduct business or just to visit, they are always very friendly and helpful people.
