Tell A Member’s Business Story: Florabelle Florist & Gifts
The Liberty County Chamber of Commerce has more than 500 amazing members, who all add a great amount of value to Liberty County and the surrounding area. Every member brings something special to our chamber family, and we love to highlight our members by telling their business story. This week we are highlighting Florabelle Florist & Gifts.
Could you tell us about yourself?
Rhonda Nuttall is the owner of Florabelle Florist & Gifts, a local flower shop with a variety of fresh flowers and creative gift ideas to suit any style or budget. She is as dedicated to her business as she is to her family: “I have been married to my wonderful husband Brian for eight years” Rhonda said. She is also the proud mother of four beautiful children: Haleigh, Kaitlyn, Brian Jr. & Davis.
What made you start Florabelle?
After graduating college, Rhonda began working for the Liberty County 911 dispatch. She spent 12 years there before she switched to another career that she felt was more fitting for raising her family. Rhonda became a department head at Liberty Regional Medical Center, where she spent the next 14 years. Around this time, Rhonda’s daughters were leaving the house and making changes in their adult lives. Rhonda felt inspired and decided it was time for her to do the same: “I came across an ad on Facebook for a flower shop going out of business that would allow me to open up with everything I needed. The thought of spending my work life doing something that I’ve always loved sparked a joy and excitement in me that I’d been looking for. So, I took my chance and here I am with Florabelle seven years later.”
When you’re not working, where in Liberty County do you like to spend your time?
Rhonda enjoys spending her weekends outdoors or on the coast with her family. It’s almost impossible for her to choose one particular place in Liberty County as her favorite spot. “I love going to the Farmers Market and other events in downtown Hinesville when I can.”
What is an interesting fact about Florabelle people might not know?
Since moving into their new building, Florabelle has started managing two greenhouses where they grow and house indoor and outdoor plants! “We also do aquaponic and hydroponic vegetable growing, powered by over 200 koi fish on site. In addition, we have a smaller koi pond in the main greenhouse available for all of our customers to see and enjoy!”
What Florabelle decide to join the Chamber?
“By being involved and/or a member with the Chamber for many years, (I served on the board for a couple of years as well) l have seen the value the Chamber brings to its members and our community. The chamber offers so many networking opportunities to Members, which is a great way to get to know other businesses in our community.”
What advice do you have for new business owners?
“My advice to new business owners is to never give up on your dream. Offer GREAT customer service to your customers/clients and always do the right thing – service above self.”
