Who are you and what is your business?

Katamara Frasier-Somerville is the founder and owner of The Diamond Life Home, a woman-owned, eco-conscious home essentials brand based in Georgia. “We are committed to redefining home essentials by blending luxury, sustainability and affordability. Each product is thoughtfully handcrafted using vegan, nontoxic and cruelty-free ingredients, ensuring a cleaner and healthier home environment. We take pride in using sustainable materials and eco-friendly packaging to minimize our environmental footprint. Our goal is to transform everyday living into an experience of comfort, beauty and mindfulness, making every home a sanctuary of peace and elegance,” she said.

What made you start your business?

“Sometimes, the best things in life happen by accident. The Diamond Life Home began as a simple act of kindness—an extra touch to a heartfelt gift. What started as a few hand-poured candles placed in a gift for a women’s retreat quickly became the spark that ignited a full-fledged home care brand. Seeing the demand, we decided to create a self-care box featuring our candles and a few complementary home essentials. To our surprise, the boxes sold out in less than two weeks,” she said. The overwhelming support and encouragement inspired Katamara to dream bigger.

“What if we could create a full line of home care products that elevated everyday spaces into sanctuaries of peace and luxury? From that moment, The Diamond Life Home was born. We expanded beyond candles to include a curated collection of high-quality, natural home products designed to bring warmth, balance and beauty to every corner of your home.”

What’s an interesting fact about your business that most people don’t know?

“An interesting fact about our business is that we are Amazon-powered. Our business is a part of the Black Business Accelerator created during the pandemic to fuel and fund small Black-owned businesses. We were able to open and repurpose our shop with a grant provided by the program,” she explained.

Advice for new business owners

“One essential piece of advice for a new business owner is to stay adaptable and listen to your customers. Your initial idea might evolve based on real-world demand, feedback and opportunities you didn’t anticipate. Be open to refining your product, expanding your vision and pivoting when necessary; success often comes from embracing the unexpected,” she expressed.

The Value of Being a Chamber Member

“We joined the Chamber to stay informed about local happenings in Liberty County and network with other business owners within our community. Our membership has proven valuable, as we have had the opportunity to partner with the Chamber for our ribbon-cutting celebration and participate in other Chamber events, such as the Military Spouses Tour,” she explained.
