Sunbury Boat Ramp | 3295 Ft. Morris Road, Midway, GAThe Best Spots to Launch a Kayak in Liberty County Sunbury Boat Ramp

Put your kayak in the water, enjoy beautiful views and go fishing at the public dock in Sunbury. It is a cozy spot that showcases all that coastal living has to offer! With direct access to the intracoastal waterways, you’ll want to make sure that you have the Tides Near Me app handy when you visit. This app will tell you when high and low tides are, so you can choose the best possible time for your adventure.

Venture through the marsh, relax in the sun and maybe even see a school of dolphins when you launch from this spot. Once your kayaking adventure has ended, make your way down to the Sunbury Crab Company. When visiting, you can indulge in fresh seafood, a cold drink and live music if you’re lucky. They do require a reservation, so you’ll want to plan ahead and give them a call or click here to make your reservation online. They fill up fast!

Pro Tip: The Sunbury Boat Ramp is one of the most serene spots in all of Liberty County making it a great place to watch the sunrise and sunset.

Jones Creek Park | 2059 Isle of Wight Road, Midway GAThe Best Spots to Launch a Kayak in Liberty County Jones Creek Park

Before crossing the causeway onto Isle of Wight in Midway, there will be a park on your right that has a small landing with access to water. Jones Creek Park is one of our personal favorite spots! It’s perfect for people who have very little kayaking experience and the seasoned pros. Everyone will enjoy putting in here and paddling around.

Enjoy kayaking at Jones Creek Park to the fullest! Pack a cooler and venture out to a sandbar. It is a tidal creek, so you’ll also want to download the Tides Near Me app here too. Set your location as St. Catherines Island to make sure that you don’t get stuck dragging your kayak through the mud. We suggest staying out until sunset, because they’re remarkable here.

Pro Tip: There is also a playground at this park, so your littles can run around and get their energy out!
