Dirt roads are the perfect way to capture the true essence of Liberty County in a photo. The way the sun shines through the tree canopies is gorgeous on its own, and the Spanish moss hanging from the trees makes the best backdrop! We don’t have an exact location on these roads, so you’ll start driving and stop when you find your favorite stop. Choose one dirt road or visit all three! You won’t be disappointed.

The boardwalk at Cay Creek Wetlands Interpretive Center is a perfect location to snap a picture or two, especially with each of the different landscapes you will see from beginning to end. The various ecosystems provide all sorts of greenery. Our favorite part is the creek at the end of the boardwalk! Luckily, it opens into a dock wide enough to fit your whole family.

3) The Historic Baptismal Trail

Whenever you arrive at the Historic Baptismal Trail, you might be wondering where the backdrop is. Start walking until you stumble upon the tree lined path! Once you get to the end, you’ll find a boardwalk that leads to the former baptismal site of the First African Baptist Church. The water that was once used as the baptismal pool is great for capturing a reflection! Snap some beautiful pictures, and make sure you don’t miss the opportunity to learn about the history of the site when you visit.

4) The Dock at the Sunbury Crab Company

Looking for a dock on the coast? The Sunbury Crab Company is perfect for you. Make your way down for an on the water look! Finish off the photo session with a cold drink, a delicious meal and an even better view from the deck while you eat. Be sure to try the blue crabs, they’re a Liberty County staple!

Visit Georgia’s only Revolutionary fort with original earth works! Fort Morris State Historic Site allows you to kill two birds with one stone, because it has views of the coast and nature. The walking trail provides the greenery of nature and a clear view of St. Catherines Sound gives that coastal feel. While you’re there, pop in to their museum and learn about what the fort was used for back in the day!

9) Jones Creek Park
