6 Parks to Visit this Spring in Liberty County

Get your steps in this spring by taking a walk in a Liberty County park! The weather is warming up which means it is a great time to get up, get out of the house and spend some time outdoors. March 30th is National Take a Walk in a Park Day, so we wanted to get a head start and share some of our favorite parks to visit. Keep reading to learn more about each one!

1) Briar Bay Park | 3850 Barrington Ferry Road, Riceboro

Make your way to Riceboro and visit Briar Bay Park! It is fully stocked with amenities including a basketball and beach volleyball court, a kitchen, picnic tables, a playground, restrooms, a softball field and a walking trail. If you are looking for other things to do in the area, the Historic Baptismal Trail and tree spirits are also located nearby.

2) Bradwell Park | 107 Commerce Street, Hinesville

The newly renovated Bradwell Park is a wonderful asset to downtown Hinesville! Have a picnic under the live oaks, cool off in the splash pad or bring your friends and family to enjoy one of the many events hosted in the park. Take part in some of the best shopping and food that Hinesville has to offer at Molly Maxine and Zum Rosenhof and learn about local arts and culture at the Hinesville Area Arts Council or the historic Liberty County Courthouse!

3) Eve Park | 234 Azalea Road, Midway

Take a walk along our intracoastal waterways on the east end of Liberty County when you visit Eve Park. Indulge in amazing coastal views, relax under the pavilion and let the kiddos play on the playground! We are sure that you will fall in love with this cozy park immediately. It is located at Halfmoon Marina, so you can grab a quick snack and watch boats float by.

4) Jones Creek Park | 2059 Isle of Wight Rd, Midway

Also located on the east end of Liberty County, catch a beautiful sunset on the water while going for an evening walk at Jones Creek Park. If you go at the right time, you might even see a dolphin or two while getting your steps in. If you love to kayak, we recommend this as a place to launch! We also suggest that you check the tides before heading out.

5) Irene B. Thomas Park | 700 Sharon Street, Hinesville

This park is conveniently located in Hinesville and is a hometown favorite for families. Go for a stroll around the half mile loop! Don’t forget to bring along your fishing gear to see if you can get any bites in the catch and release pond. Irene B. Thomas Park is also a great place to enjoy a picnic in the grass while the kiddos play at the playground! If you’re looking for a family friendly place to get out of the house and be active, this is the spot for you.

6) Bryant Commons Park | 438 W Oglethorpe Highway, Hinesville

Located in the heart of Hinesville, Bryant Commons Park has something to offer for everyone. Situated on a 150-acres it features an outdoor amphitheater, Cisco’s Dog Park, Brambles Playground, the ITPA Museum and a large catch and release pond to fish in. This park has the perfect loop to walk with friends and family. Take a breather while watching the sunset through the beautiful oak trees surrounding the property. If you are looking for an after-work stress reliever, this is it!
