Explore Liberty: How to Plan the Perfect Picnic
Posted on June 4, 2026 in The Right Blend Blog
Liberty County summers are perfect for picnics. The weather and views are almost too good to be true. Here’s how we’d make the most of a day in the park in Liberty County.
Step One: Plan the Vibe/Pick a Spot
There are a lot of things to think about when planning a picnic. The first things we plan are where to go and what we’re doing when we get there. Liberty County has great picnic spots to choose from. Here’s our top three!
Bryant Commons
Want a family picnic by the water? Try Bryant Commons. This park, in the heart of Hinesville, offers two catch-and-release ponds, a playground, a dog park and a lovely field that stretches throughout the property. Enjoy the sun and cast a line while picnicking here.
Eve Park at Half Moon Marina
Planning to just sit and chill? Eve Park in Midway overlooks Half Moon Marina. Enjoy your day watching the water and identifying some of the local birds. This park is perfect for relaxing in the sunshine and enjoying an ice-cold drink on your picnic blanket.
Susie King Taylor Freedom Park at Jones Creek
Another picnic gem located in Midway is Susie King Taylor Freedom Park at Jones Creek. This park is great if you want to spend the day taking in Liberty County’s nature or cruising around on a kayak. Enjoy this park all day long and catch a beautiful sunset!
Step Two: Pack your Basket
Let’s talk food. We have tons of good eats around here.
Head over to baldino’s Giant Jersey Subs for a yummy sandwich of your choice. Their menu is fantastic! One of our favorites is the Grilled American. It has provolone cheese, turkey, smoked turkey, roast beef and hard salami. You can also grab some chips and your choice of beverage when stopping in. Make sure to grab lots of napkins for your picnic!
Y’all can also try Melody’s Coastal Café, in Midway. This local gem has almost everything on its menu. Order something to-go, pack it up and hit the road to your picnic destination.
And, if you’re feeling like trying a mix of finger foods, flatbreads and crispy sandwiches, give our local World of Beer a try. They’ll definitely give you something to fill up on.
We’ve got great options for drinks, too. If y’all are going for a more romantic experience, be sure to stop by One Stop or Bootleggers, grab a bottle and some disposable glasses for that ultimate sunset picnic. Parker’s in Midway also happens to be the very first Parker’s in Georgia! If alcohol isn’t in the cards this picnic, stop by and grab a sweet tea. We promise, you won’t regret it.
Step Three: Make Memories
Hope you didn’t forget to pack your camera!
Each picnic location is full of Instagram-worthy spots. Don’t forget to take lots of pictures and tag us using #ExploreLiberty! We love nothing more than seeing y’all enjoy our beautiful county.
