It’s easy to fall in love with our beautiful community! Coastal views, deep historic roots, Spanish moss and gorgeous sunsets all come together to create the right blend that is Liberty County. Keep reading as we list our Top 9 Instagram photos from May! Whether you’re a local here for a day or a visitor for a lifetime, these photos are sure to make you fall in love with Liberty County.
#9 Veterans Memorial Walk
Kicking off our list is a photo taken at the Veterans Memorial Walk, located at Bryant Commons Park, 438 W. Oglethorpe Hwy. Our community has a deep-rooted military history going as far back as the Revolutionary War. This paved walkway serves as a space to reflect and remember all the brave servicemen and women who fought for our country.
#8 Yoga in Liberty County
Next up on our list is another photo from Bryant Commons Park! Sitting on 150 acres of land, this park has a little of everything. Through joint community collaboration, the estate of former Senator Glenn E. Bryant was transformed into a passive community park, just as the Bryant family had always imagined. Currently, it features an outdoor amphitheater, several ponds, Bramble’s playground, Cisco’s dog park, the I.T.P.A. Museum and, of course, the Veterans Memorial Walk.
#7 Backyard Views

#5 Flemington Presbyterian Church

Next up on our list is Flemington Presbyterian Church, which was established in 1852. During the 1800s, the city of Flemington was known as Gravel Hill and served as a pseudo-summer vacation community for the residents of the Midway and Sunbury communities. #4 Seasonal Blooms at the Bacon Fraser House
One of the many unique features of the 1839 Bacon Fraser house is the fact that there is always something blooming. One of our favorites is the Wisteria, which blooming in the Spring. #3 Midway Museum

Did you know the Midway Museum is the only colonial museum in Georgia? Be sure to check out this recreation of an 18th-century plantation cottage. The museum is staged and modeled after a colonial home, containing antique furnishings, artwork, documents, jewelry, clothing and much more. Take a step through time and see what life may have been like in the early days of St. John’s Parish (Liberty County).
#2 Hampton Island
Next up on our list is Hampton Island, a private island off the coast of Liberty County, has served as a film location for several major films and TV shows, such as:
- Live by Night (2016; movie)
- American Grit (2017; TV series)
- The Menu (2022; movie)
Oh, and did we mention it’s also where Ben Affleck and Jennifer Lopez got married!
#1 Colonels Island Sunset
