Cay Creek Wetlands Interpretive Center has a 0.7-mile boardwalk that winds through freshwater wetlands. Along the way, you might spot a variety of birds, reptiles, amphibians and lush vegetation. And don’t forget to climb the lookout tower for a sweeping view of this natural beauty!

The Historic Baptismal Trail is another must-visit. This self-guided trail lets you explore an important part of the Gullah Geechee community’s history. This trail was an active holy site for more than 100 years, and signage along the path shares fascinating stories from the past.

What better time to explore Liberty County’s historic cemeteries than during spooky season? Each year around Halloween, the Midway Museum hosts a cemetery tour with costumed historical figures. Be sure to get your tickets in advance!

Another must-see is the Sunbury Cemetery, the final resting place of some of coastal Georgia’s earliest residents. Keep your eyes open—some visitors swear they’ve seen a little ghostly activity!
