Stop one: food!
Below are a few of our favorite spots to pick up something yummy before hitting the road to #ExploreLiberty.
: Joanna Ng
Head over to baldinos Giant Jersey Subs for a yummy sandwich of your choice. Their menu is fantastic, and one of our favorites is the “The Grilled American.” It has extra provolone cheese, turkey, smoked turkey, roast beef & hard salami. You can also grab some chips and your choice of beverage when stopping in. Make sure to grab lots of napkins for your picnic!
Try out Melody’s Coastal Café, located in Midway. This local gem has almost everything on its menu. Order something to-go, pack it up and hit the road to your picnic destination.
Sho Nuff Smokin Good BBQ is a local favorite that offers to-go plates! If you want a good old-fashioned home cooking with some of the best sides in town, this is the place to stop before heading to your picnic spot!

Stop 2: beverages!
What romantic picnic is complete without a bottle of bubbly? None we say! So be sure to stop by One Stop or Bootleggers & grab a bottle & some disposable glasses for that ultimate sunset picnic!
If alcohol isn’t in the cards, then we say you should go by Parker’s in Midway, the very first Parker’s in Georgia! You cannot beat their sweat tea, arguably the best in Liberty County!

Stop 3: picnic!
There are lots of spots to lay out your blanket, we think you should try em all!
Located in the heart of Hinesville, this beautiful 150-acre property has been transformed into a beautiful park that offers two catch-and-release pounds, a playground, a dog park and a lovely field that stretches throughout the property. Enjoy your lunch and cast a line while picnicking here.
You will find a peaceful park in Midway that overlooks Half Moon Marina. Enjoy your day watching the water and trying to identify some of the local birds. Eve Park is perfect for relaxing in the sunshine and enjoying a beverage on your picnic blanket.
Another picnic gem located in Midway is Jones Creek Park. This park is great if you want to spend the day taking in Liberty County’s nature or cruise around on a kayak. You can enjoy this park all day long and catch a beautiful sunset.
